Yokohama Ascend GT Tire Review

Walking down the road for several hours at a time can be very tiring, especially if your car is not very quiet. Science backs it up – noise can actually bog down our brains and make us tired. More importantly, the noise can make you lose concentration, which is certainly not something you want in a car. Often what you hear when driving on the highway comes from the tires.

Obviously, after that, choosing a quieter set of tires will make longer trips more bearable. One such tire is the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire. Described as a grand tour of all-season tires, Yokohama focuses on excellent comfort and all-season traction. But is this really a good thing? Check out this detailed Yokohama Ascend GT Tire Review!

The Yokohama Ascend GT Tire is one of the latest additions to Yokohama’s lineup, which means it includes the latest technology from the manufacturer. This is great because the competition permanently revamps their grand touring tires and especially premium manufacturers. The best part about Yokohama is that they try to make high-quality tires at a slightly lower cost than other premium competitors and are often successful in doing so.

Available in sizes from 15 to 20 inches, the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire covers a range of mid-sized sedans, coupes, minivans, and even crossovers. In other words, if you have a family-owned car, Yokohama should fit that bill. In terms of price, Yokohama is 10% cheaper than its closest competitors at Bridgestone, McLean, and Continental, which means you can save up to $100 on a set of four tires. Not to be held back, the fact is that this Japanese manufacturer is known for making durable and safe tires that work as advertised.

What are the features of the Yokohama Avid Ascend GT?

Talking about the features, these tires last a lot. To date, it encompasses almost every technique that Yokohama has introduced to the world, with the most obvious being the tribal yogic technique. This all-season compound combines a low Tg polymer and a high silica content to bring high grip levels in both dry and wet conditions. Tread Compound is also suitable for Walking Life – Yokohama offers a 65,000-mile warranty on Treadwear. It might not be the best result in this category, but in terms of price, it is still the best and close to the very best.

The Yokohama Ascend GT Tire Review. This tire comes with an optimized grip and stretch in all-weather, and optimized for stable contact with the road, a shaky business pattern that doesn’t travel with most tires. On closer inspection, there is a lot to walk. External adaptive shoulder blocks are here to give the Ascent GT a quiet drive, which was clearly a key factor when designing this tire.

Subsequently, four deep introductory tubes of disproportionate width prevent hydroplaning and evaporation of water, while open shoulders in internal markings allow water to pass through. The tire also has more than one spout, which helps it survive light snow. Many tires don’t have tread designs that are that wide. On top, the polyester casing is designed with ride comfort in mind, while the full nylon cover provides predictable handling and excellent fast durability.

The Yokohama Ascend GT Tire is also equipped with Yokohama Blue Earth technology to reduce rolling resistance, which reduces fuel consumption and emissions.

What are maintenance indicators?

The Yokohama Avid Ascend GT, like other Yokohama tires, comes with maintenance indicators. Look for treadmill bars inside the treadmill – if you don’t see them the tires are fine for use. Even if the moving signal is moving along the bars, however, it is time to change that.

In terms of warranty, Yokohama Avid Ascend GT offers a limited 65,000-mile treadmill warranty of 5 years. The Uniformity Warranty qualifies for the first 2/32 wear, while Yokohama will happily cover your tires for the first year or 2/32 wear. will change, then 2/32 of it. The rest will be presented in-depth. Unlike other manufacturers, Yokohama offers a 30-day trial drive.

Is it good for off-road driving?

If you own a crossover and want tires that will work in tough road conditions, I’m afraid the Yokohama Avid Ascend GT isn’t the best option out there. This tire is designed for use only on paved surfaces, not road conditions. That said, thanks to the extensive merchandise design, you can use these pieces on some gravel roads if you insist. Just do this carefully as grip and traction will be limited.

How does it behave on the dry tarmac?

While it is certainly not a sporty tire, the Yokohama offers excellent handling for the driver. On par with the best premium Grand Turing tires, traction is great even on the more powerful sedans, coupes, and minivans. Brake performance is also excellent. Not leading the class, you feel bad, but still very respectable, especially when compared to tires of the same price category.

Thanks to the advanced tread compound, the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire is also very responsive in corners – it responds quickly to steering inputs. The grip is also high for Grand Turing tires, but the most impressive aspects are straight-line stability and road holding. With these tires, it is perfectly safe to drive at 70mph on the highway.

Thanks to the advanced crushing compound, the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire does a great job even in cold weather, with little to no grip and stretch. In addition to excellent handling performance, the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire should also reduce your car’s fuel consumption and emissions, thanks to Blue Art technology.

With all that said, if you have a particularly sporty coupe with a powerful engine upfront, you’ll want to invest a bit more in a high-performance tire set. If you insist on this brand, there are some (very good) ones in Yokohama.

How is it over wet and slippery roads?

As good as the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire is on dry tarmac, it could be even better on wet and slippery roads. Relatively ly, of course. I think Yokohama is good at resisting hydroplaning. Water remains under control even in water pits. In addition, the high-performance compound makes a profit on damp surfaces, where the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire has maintained itself extremely well. Overall, this is one of the safest and easiest Grand Turing tires to drive in the rain.

With that being said, how is it in snowy roads?

Drivers living in extremely cold regions will need an appropriate set of winter tires when it snows. However, if you live here and there are mild winters and there is only a small amount of snow, the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire will easily have you covered. The traction level in light snow has an excellent rating in the all-season Grand Touring category, as well as brake performance. That said, driving on icy surfaces is unpredictable – the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire is completely lost in these conditions. Also, forget driving in deep snow – you could get stuck.

Is it comfortable and refined?

You bet it is! This is one of the quieter tires I’ve tried recently, improving the refinement of any vehicle you’ve installed. Even at very high speeds, and for cars that don’t really have insulation. On top of that, the ride quality will be offset by the Devil’s Top with GT tires. Yokohama is almost entirely consumed by the small mistakes in the road, while the big potholes have the mood of Apollo. This is probably the biggest reason why you should choose a combination of these tires – they are comfortable enough for any level you face.

Should I buy the Yokohama Avid Ascend GT?

If you’re in the market for Grand Touring all-season tires, I’d say you should definitely consider the Yokohama Ascend GT Tire. In fact, it is very hard to trace a major fault with Yokohama. This tire definitely shows that Yokohama has a lot of experience and knowledge in tire design.

We hope you like our this Yokohama Ascend GT Tire Review. However, keep your options open. Some Grand Turings from premium manufacturers may offer better tire handling capabilities and longer treadwear warranties. For example, the Bridgestone Tornaza Serenity Plus comes with an 80,000-mile Treadware warranty and may be a better option for drivers who travel a lot of miles per year, despite the fact that it’s more expensive.

This is not to say that Yokohama has produced an excellent Grand Turing tire that works all year round and is extremely comfortable and comfortable. highly recommended!
